From 21–25 February 2018 the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design had a booth at the fair art KARLSRUHE 2018.

The university presented a selection of objects and narratives that give an insight into what goes on everyday in the HfG Karlsruhe. These objects were various — works made by students; elements of the school’s technical apparatus; and its building, a former munitions factory.

Studies at the HfG are broad and interconnected. Students are free to take courses from five departments: Media Art, Communication Design, Product Design, Theory, and Scenography. We represented the connections between these departments in the display. A piece of workshop apparatus became a support for a sculpture, and works in progress were shown alongside permanent fixtures of the school building.

Each object had been chosen as a prompt for a narrative and are presented below.
