On September 6 and 7, 2023, the Badische Landesbibliothek in cooperation with the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design will present the pop-up exhibition "Between Cliché and Tradition ".

At the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, Juliane Hohlbaum led the seminar "Between Cliché and Tradition: Fundamentals of Design II " in the summer semester of 2023. In this seminar, communication design students dealt with views of the Black Forest - with real images as well as images staged by the tourism industry. After an intensive research phase and a visit to the exhibition in the Badische Landesbibliothek, the students designed their own artistic works, which they are now presenting in the foyer of the Badische Landesbibliothek.

Accompanying the pop-up exhibition, an audio guide has been created that can be listened to on site. In addition, a selection of publications on the students' works and on the exhibition "Mit der Schwarzwaldbahn an den Bodensee - Tourismuswerbung im Wandel " will be available on the shelves for interested visitors to borrow.

With the exhibition "Mit der Schwarzwaldbahn an den Bodensee - Tourismuswerbung im Wandel ", the Badische Landesbibliothek focuses on the beginnings of tourism advertising. The exhibition is open to the public free of charge during the opening hours of the Badische Landesbibliothek until September 16, 2023.
